It’s just a conversation, right? Wrong. An interview is SO much more… In this hands-on workshop, two experienced interviewers from city planning and sociology will highlight the practical skills that are needed to conduct and transcribe interviews, including an introduction to qualitative data analysis. Sarah and Jen will discuss all of the things that they wish they would have known before sitting down to interview members of different communities and share stories from interviews they have conducted to help you understand what to expect. They will also share tips for transcribing and analyzing interview data. In this session, you will also have the chance to try interviewing for yourself, analyze a bit of interview data, and hear what supervisors will be looking for from their assistants.en_US
